By almost any measure Cheadle is the most upmarket constituency in the North of England, and in the top division nationally. Not surprisingly, this is a safe Conservative seat. There are some pockets of local strength for the Liberal Democrats, but their best hope lies in the adjacent seat of Hazel Grove. In Cheadle, they are unlikely to do any better than come a creditable second.
