The coastal communities of Crosby and Formby, to the north of Liverpool, are a combination of affluent commuter suburbia and better-off retirement areas. In the recent boundary changes Crosby loses some moderately affluent private housing estates to the east, to see them replaced by some relatively poorer areas to the south. This will have the effect of reducing the Conservative majority, but the seat should remain safe for the Tories.
