The new constituency of Dulwich and West Norwood takes in areas from the south of two inner London Boroughs, Southwark and Lambeth, which the Conservatives can fairly view as winnable in a good year. The seat contains a remarkable cross-section of this part of London, from very comfortable and leafy residential roads, to council blocks and multi-occupied terraced housing of a more inner-city character. Current projections must favour Labour in 1997, but this unlikely to offer a secure seat for any Labour victor.
