The new constituency of Mid-Kent stretches from the outskirts of Canterbury in the east to the outskirts of Maidstone in the west. Faversham in the only town of any size that is wholly within the seat. There are some Labour votes at the Maidstone end of the constituency, but most of the residents of this lush Kent countryside vote solidly Conservative, with an undercurrent of unthreatening Lib Dem support. Faversham and Mid Kent should be safely Conservative.
