As one of the safest Conservative seats in the country, this affluent part of south Buckinghamshire is not going to spring any surprises. It is the sort of seat where aspiring young Labour candidates stand to gain experience with no hope of winning. In a 1982 by-election in Beaconsfield a certain Tony Blair, now leader of the Labour party, did just that.
