New Forest East, extending from the western bank of Southampton Water into the eastern half of the ancient New Forest itself, does contain the imposing and industrial oil refinery at Fawley, but the resident population is essentially comfortably affluent, whether in the more modern communities towards Fawley, or within the ever-so-nice New Forest towns of Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst. The Conservatives are safely ahead of the Liberal Democrats here and can be expected to hold.
