Pudsey, wedged between the West Yorkshire cities of Leeds and Bradford, has been an interesting constituency in recent elections and its boundaries remain unchanged. Although held by the Conservatives, both Labour and the Liberal Democrats, who do well in local elections, make a respectable showing. Pudsey has been a close three-way marginal before and, although the Conservatives will reasonably expect to win in 1997, almost any outcome is possible.
