Those unfamiliar with the area might be hard-pressed to conceive of a seaside resort up here on the Cleveland coast, adjacent to heavily industrial Teeside, but such is the core of the Redcar constituency. However, boundaries extend to embrace Teeside overspill estates, which firmly tilt the balance and create a safe Labour seat. Labour's vivacious, rising star, 'Mo' Mowlam, will safely return to Westminster to continue to represent this curious corner of England where Yorkshire meets the North East.
