Lying to the north and east of Kingston upon Hull, this essentially rural seat embraces much of the former East Riding of Yorkshire. From the market town of Beverley to the fast-eroding coastal strip running down to Spurn Head, this is pretty solid Conservative territory with the Liberal Democrats generally coming a fairly remote second. Expect few surprises here. The coast may erode, but the Conservative vote is unlikely to do so sufficiently to challenge their hegemony.
