Boundary Commission changes in Birmingham have helped strengthen Labour's likely hold on this mixed constituency in the north-eastern corner of the city. The more affluent and therefore essentially Conservative areas border with affluent Sutton Coldfield, but the area becomes increasingly Labour as you move towards the city centre. Relatively few non-white electors for an urban Midlands seat gives a very traditional Labour profile.
