Don't look for the name of Woodspring on the map - except for the constituency, there is no such entity - town or village. The seat is named after a now-defunct local government district in the also-now-defunct county of Avon. Woodspring was created in 1983 from the leftover bits of the now-amalgamated seats of Weston and North Somerset. It is the safest Tory seat in this area of the West containing much countryside and faded seaside resorts like Portishead. Sitting MP Dr Liam Fox may now have lost a few thousand votes to boundary changes, but the dent in his majority is so small he may not even notice.
