This is the core of the pre-1996 seat of South Worcestershire - it gains 11,000 voters from Leominster and loses 30,000 around Evesham. This is a very rural seat and a hotbed of Toryism - the largest town is Great Malvern, a spa and holiday resort and the home of Elgar. Michael Spicer, the Conservative MP for South Worcs, is standing in this seat and, although his 1992 majority of 16,000 over the Lib Dems will be reduced slightly by the boundary changes, the Tories can count on this one.
