Alyn and Deeside lies in the far north-east corner of Wales along the west bank of the estuary of the River Dee where its main population is concentrated in industrial communities. This is the least Welsh of Wales' constituencies, with over half the population born outside the principality. Despite being a rural hinterland, the balance of this seat is to Labour who hold it pretty safely.
