Stretching from the edge of the Highlands to the east coast, Angus surrounds, but excludes, the city of Dundee. It contains the 'respectable burghs' of Montrose and Arbroath, as well as the golfing town of Carnoustie. Narrowly held by the SNP at the last election, since when the boundaries have changed but slightly, another close contest between the Conservatives and the Nationalists should be expected, but with the Tories so much on the defensive in Scotland, the SNP should be expected to hold.
