The new constituency of Cotswold contains the prosperous town of Cirencester together with many of the Cotswold's pretty and sedate small towns and villages. The electorate is economically secure and comfortable, and, although some flirt with the Liberal Democrats in local government polls, a majority vote Conservative at general elections. This should be a safe Tory seat.
