Croydon South, which includes the affluent suburban neighbourhoods of Purley, Coulsdon and Sanderstead, is one of the safest Conservative seats in London. With the exception of some Labour-voting neighbourhoods in the north of the constituency, closer to the town centre, the Tory vote here is solid. Liberal Democrats scrape into a modest second place but pose no threat.
