The affluent countryside of Cheshire is the North West's equivalent of London's affluent Home Counties. With the exception of the Manchester overspill town of Winsford, which votes strongly for Labour, the balance of the Eddisbury seat is fairly solidly Conservative, and this swings the balance of voting to create a safe Tory seat.
