The comfortable Hampshire town of Fareham, located half-way between Southampton and Portsmouth, plus a number of affluent villages and also some boating communities on the River Hamble, create the kind of parliamentary constituency where the Conservatives regularly hold over 60 per cent of the poll. This makes for a very safe Tory majority.
