Glasgow Maryhill, running from the inner city to the northern fringes of Scotland's largest city, is dominated, as are several Glasgow constituencies, by estates of local authority housing. Approaching the city centre we do find more mixed areas with pockets of better educated, professional city dwellers, but the overall picture is overwhelmingly one of very traditional proletarian Labour loyalty. Labour's Maria Fyfe will be safe here.
