Within the comfortable Thames valley town of Maidenhead itself, the Liberal Democrats have scored some notable local election victories. However, other riverside communities such as Cookham and Sonning are more quintessentially Conservative, and this should be more than enough to ensure that this newly drawn constituency will be safe for the Tories.
