The Berkshire city of Reading is divided into two constituencies, East and West, each of which takes in significant surrounding suburbia and countryside. This is enough to stymie any hopes that Labour may have had of picking up a seat here following the recent boundary review, given that Labour support in Reading is concentrated in the inner city and divided between the two seats. The Conservatives can expect to hold Reading West.
