The East Sussex constituency of Bexhill and Battle occupies the coastal retirement strip between Eastbourne and Hastings as well as the inland countryside. With the highest pensionable population of any seat, and very little council housing, this is a very safe Conservative seat. The Liberal Democrats make some local impact and Labour has support in the few council estates, but not enough to shake the Tory hold.
