The south-eastern corner of Lincolnshire is in fact named after the other Holland on the other side of the North Sea. Its flat wind-swept terrain and vast open skies have much in common with the Netherlands and a number of Dutch families have done very well here. This is a new seat - the majority of the electors come from Stamford and Spalding, which was held by Tory Quentin Davies, who is standing here. This rural territory is strongly Conservative, while the Lib Dems are surprisingly weak, ceding second place to Labour. Davies' majority is threatened by neither of the opposition parties.
