Robert Waller wrote

The Sussex Weald is a largely agricultural and heavily wooded district of soft southern English scenery. The area inspired the setting of A A Milne's Winnie the Pooh, and Conservative predominance in its constituency of Wealden is such that the other parties must be as gloomy as Eeyore at the prospect of challenging it. There are no Labour wards in the seat, and the party has never obtained even as much as 10 per cent of the vote in a General Election. Even the second party here, the Lib Dems, would require a swing of nearly 20 per cent to unseat veteran Tory MP Sir Geoffrey Johnson Smith.
