The coastal area of West Sussex, which runs east from Worthing through Lancing to Shoreham, has seen some notable successes for the Liberal Democrats in recent local elections. However, the Liberal Democrats seem to have difficulty persuading such voters to equally trust them when it comes to parliamentary elections. The Conservative MP, Michael Stephen, should benefit from boundary changes and should have a large enough majority to be perfectly safe.
