The new constituency of Yorkshire East combines the market towns and productive farmland of the Yorkshire Wolds, with the seaside resort of Bridlington. In the more urban areas we find pockets of support for both Labour and the Liberal Democrats, but it is the Conservatives who dominate these rolling acres. Conservative right-winger John Townend should be safely returned to Westminster.
