This coastal strip of West Sussex embraces many small retirement resorts, including Bognor itself, as well as the slightly more industrial port of Littlehampton. For the most part genteel, elderly and affluent, the electorate is unlikely to abandon its traditional loyalty, which contributes to a large Conservative majority. The other parties could well echo King George V's alleged valedictory words: 'Bugger Bognor'.
