Medway is one Kent seat where the boundaries are unchanged. The name is slightly misleading as only Rochester of the three 'Medway towns' lies within this constituency. Chatham and Gillingham go elsewhere. Medway was long considered to be something of a bellwether constituency, but over the past decade it has swung closer to the Conservatives and now looks to be a fairly safe Tory seat. Labour does quite well within the city of Rochester itself, but the surrounding countryside tips the balance in favour of the Conservatives.
