There have been major boundary changes in this part of Lancashire, and this new coastal seat follows Blackpool's famous tram line up through the residential and retirement community of Thornton Cleveleys to the fishing and container port of Fleetwood. Not as strongly Conservative as this area once was, this nevertheless remains an essentially safe Tory seat and a Labour win would announce something approaching a national landslide for them.
